Our Alpacas are shorn every 12 months and produce 3-4 kilos of fiber. Containing no lanolin, Alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and is very fine, generally between 14.5 and 50 microns. Alpaca fleece has about 3 times the insulating capacity of sheep's wool and it's hollow structure means that it is water repellent and breathable. Garments made of alpaca fiber won't mat or fill and are extremely durable.
